Next week from May 23-26, racing enthusiasts from around the world will gather for the 2013 Grand Prix de Monaco, one of the most prestigious car races in the history of car races. Rightfully so, as Monaco is considered a European hub of glamour and luxury.

Since 1929, the country has played host to this historic event with drivers competing on a highly demanding and challenging 3.3 km (2 mile) course. The race is organized by the Automobile Club de Monaco with classic grand prix and sports cars taking on the same track as the modern Formula One cars. Dangerous curves, narrow and bumpy roads, steep hills, and a dark tunnel comprise the circuit, which makes for a very interesting and hair-raising race to witness.

Since you’re in Monaco to see cars, why not visit the Exhibition of HSH Prince of Monaco’s Vintage Car Collection? This remarkable collection consists of about 100 cars located at the museum on Terrasses de Fontvieille. Some of the rare classics on display include the Ford Model T 1924, the luxury Spanish Hispano Suiza 1928, a 1929 Bugatti, and Mansell’s historic Grand Prix Ferrari. Last year Prince Albert II auctioned off a portion of this collection in order to make way for new models.
